Tala private Game reserve under the dynamic and progressive management of Signature Life Hotels is benefitting from a surge in growth since its take on and exceeded January and February targets in Conference, Wedding and leisure bookings. Says Alan Vels CEO Signature Life Hotels “this is an extraordinary property- it has a large accommodation choice, animals that are used to vehicles so give the opportunity for up close game viewing which is a delight for all ages, and it is close to Durban. In the last week various vehicles and assets have been auctioned off as existing assets, to make way for new and improved services. This is part of our strategic planning as we roll out an aggressive plan to reposition this reserve into a “luxury” private reserve that is affordable for local leisure travellers as well as inbound Tourists.”
A bonus in the last month has been the arrival of International and National media and a film crew elevating Tala onto a possible international film platform. Howard Clelland MD of Artel Stargate filmed at Tala last week for a TV insert for Sharks coach John and Lara Plumtree. Mr Clelland also feeds international news studios and said “Tala is a gorgeous manageable location for a photo and film shoots with accommodation to suit local and international crews and stars. Its’ proximity to Airports in Durban and PMB make it easy to get to- often a problem with location shoots.
Lara Plumtree training for a fundraising marathon chose Tala as the backdrop for her filming. The resident GM Kevin Burley said ” this is not the only media and production team we have had at Tala- in the last month we have hosted national media from print-radio and TV and they have been delighted and surprised with the reserve and its facilities”.
