Pregnancy Awareness Day 2016

At Netcare Alberlito Hospital we are dedicated to ensuring that parents and their new-born’s receive personal care before, during and after delivery. We understand that this can be a very exciting yet potentially stressful period for parents and we are committed to meeting the physical, psychological and emotional needs of parents during this special time of their lives.

“Pregnancy Awareness Day is about providing a platform whereby expectant parents receive advice from experts in the field of “family-starting”. Community is all about family, and we count it a privilege to be able to assist mums and dads in making informed decisions regarding their new-born.” – José Nadesan – Hospital Marketing Officer.

Dads and moms-to-be gathered at the Netcare Alberlito Hospital on Saturday where they were geared up for delivery day. Doctors, physiotherapists and other maternity experts spoke to the parents-to-be about what they should expect.

“We could spend the whole day debating about natural versus caesarean delivery but at the end of the day everyone is different and so are their experiences. Each couple needs to make an informed decision that is safe for them and their baby,” said Dr Leneque Lindeque, Netcare Alberlito gynaecologist. Moms are encouraged to ask questions and listen to their doctor’s advice before deciding on natural or caesarean birth.
