Freezing for Vision 153!

LINC Church interns Jarad Opperman and Ben Hardy have been selected to compete as a team in the annual Slimline Pool Centre Win a Pool Competition. The two boys will hit the freezing water to raise funds for their charity, Vision153.

The competition, taking place from June 24 to June 26 at Ballito Junction, is a staple on the Ballito calendar. This year, it will involve 12 teams consisting of two people each, trying to outlast each other in one swimming pool.  A series of elimination challenges will take place after teams have been in the pool for approximately 45 hours with no sleep and only a 10 minute break every 4 hours. The last team to remain in the pool will be the winner of the GRAND PRIZE: A 6M x 3M preformed fiberglass shell with pump filter, salt water chlorinator and all necessary equipment to operate the pool.

Aside from their chosen charity, each team has been encouraged to find sponsors for every hour that they remain in the pool, in order to donate to their charity. The competition will not last more than 57 hours, as a winning team will be deemed through elimination challenges.

Jarad and Ben will enter the pool at 12noon on Friday, June 24. If you would like to sponsor them, contact Kerry Niewoudt of Slimline Pools on 032 586-1582 or email
