Ballito’s Poolwise has new Owners

The fast moving and successful pool company situated at the Circle Shops on Douglas Crowe Drive of Ballito has new owners as of the 2nd February 2015.

We heard from the previous owner Paul Botha that he has sold to locals Izy and Roselyne Etkin.

Says Paul “I recognised that Poolwise needed to re-invent itself to service the changing and rapidly growing market place in and surrounding Ballito. What better way to do that, than to find new owners with energy and enthusiasm to bring in ideas to do that. I came down to Ballito to retire when it was a small village and wanted something to keep me busy, away from the hectic life of Gauteng. Poolwise has become a big business now and needs somebody to take it to the next level if I am to be serious about retiring. Of course I am just a call away from offering advice and support for Izy and Roselyne should they require it. They have bought the business as a going concern and it will be business as usual with a hint more excitement from the 2nd February”

Izy and Roselyne have vast business experience and are full of great plans to grow the business even further. They have vast knowledge in the service industry which will stand them in good stead as Poolwise is firmly centred in the service industry.

Says Izy “I will not be involved in the day to day running of the company, this will be done by my wife Roselyne in conjunction with the very capable and loyal management and staff that Paul has built up over time. I am a good judge of character and since meeting and having one-on-one conversations with all the staff, I am happy to say that I am impressed with what I see. We have taken over a very happy and motivated staff that has committed to helping us build the company further. The role I will take on is to provide strategy and guidance, using the skills I have built up over my vast years in business.”

Poolwise’s services include building pools both marblelite and fibreglass and has an agency to install drop-in fibreglass pools. They perform all manner of repairs and maintenance and have a division that takes on regular maintenance agreements to look after your pool for you, even if you live locally. They are well known for their skills in refurbishing pools and have built up a vast array of loyal clients who refer them to their friends and neighbours.

Roselyne adds, “Most people are familiar with the numerous Poolwise vehicles running all over Ballito and the Dolphin Coast. The brand has been well promoted on the vehicles around the area and is also noticeable with the now famous or even infamous billboard that you see parked in visible locations around the district. Paul has done an excellent job with this. Our daughter Sabine with a vast amount of marketing knowledge will be helping to build on this brand. She has had experience in the media having worked at East Coast Radio for a while and will continue in the new space of Social Media.”

Sabine says, “With the advent of modern technology, more and more people use their tablets or smart phones to search for service providers. It is not always about advertising but rather being “top-of-mind” when a customer needs your service. Most consumers are using the trends that the social media applications on these devices provide us with, to determine who they use and for what service. As a service provider you are almost instantly judged by the customer and this is broadcast to a wide audience almost immediately. My job is to make sure potential customers are aware of all the good work Poolwise is doing. I am excited about this challenge that Izy and Roselyne have given me. I will also be getting involved in daily sales calls as this is where my passion lies.”

It is obvious that this new team has big plans for the business and in talking to them you can see they are brimming with ideas on what can be done. Pop into the shop and meet these new owners. There is talk that they will shortly be offering customers a cappuccino from their new coffee station they intend installing. I for one will be trying it out, as I love coffee.
