In our second interview with local BNI Members we get to meet Annabelle from Da Costa Incorporated property law firm. Enjoy!
What do you do for a living?
If you run a business tell us a little about it. I own and run an property law firm which has branches in Ballito, Mount Edgecombe and Cape Town. My firm only handles predominantly property transfers, bond registrations and developments.
How long have you been doing business in Ballito?
I have been doing business in Ballito for the past 6 years but we only opened a branch office in Simbithi Office Park in 2015. My head office is in Mount Edgecombe.
What makes your business unique or different to other businesses on the coast?
I think a few things, one is the passion that I (and my staff) have for our work and this comes through in the work that we do and how we treat our clients. Another is the drive that we have to offer a professional and efficient but personal service to the buyers and sellers of property and lastly is the wealth of experience we have.
How important is Service in business – what is your approach or philosophy to service?
Service is what we are all about. When we handle a property transfer we are constantly dealing with the buyers, sellers and agents. We are judged by how well and efficiently we handle the property transfer or bond registration. Buying and selling property is a very stressful process and we aim to take that stress away from the clients so that it can be an enjoyable and exciting time for them.
How long have you stayed on the North Coast?
I personally live in Mount Edgecombe but have a long term idea to move up the coast but most of my staff live in Ballito and have for most of their lives.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I am an Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer. I have an absolute passion for the work that I do and I realise I am very lucky to have found a career that I enjoy so much. Going to work is not “work”, I thoroughly enjoy it and I love working with people. I am a wife and a mum of 2 small girls so at the end of the day I enjoy going home to my special family and spending time with them.
What is your best place to get away from it all less than 2 hours away from home?
I love going to the burg for a bit of peace and quiet as life gets a bit hectic at times.
Favourite place to have a good meal on the North Coast?
I love the prawns at Beira Alta.
