The Izulu Theatre, Sibaya came alive on Tuesday evening when Crawford North Coast presented Urban Pops. The music students of Crawford North Coast were very privileged to be accompanied by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Naum Rousine.
A delighted audience was entertained by the collaborative voices of the Crawford College and Preparatory choirs as well as the Open Air School Choir, who performed a variety of contemporary songs. Our talented music students also performed a number of solo musical items on piano, violin and thabla, whilst our very own crooners thrilled the audience with their renditions of classics like Can’t take my eyes off of you and Adele’s Rolling in the Deep.
Guest artist, Nibs van der Spuy wowed the audience with some of his much loved and well-known songs which were adapted for the orchestra by College music teacher, Nina Watson. Clever choreography by the College dancers provided a wonderful backdrop to the musical performances.
