Mrs Karen Landman was crowned as Mrs Durban 2013 this past weekend at the La Montagne Pumpkin Theatre in Ballito.
What were the judges looking for? A confident yet humble woman, one who is passionate about serving the community. Essential characteristics include good communication skills and a spontaneous nature who can use her initiative to create opportunities for underprivileged communities. The winner had to be stylish, well groomed and able to present herself with dignity and integrity. Karen Landman was found to meet the criteria and was crowned as MRS DURBAN 2013. The Mrs Durban title is about “Ordinary Women stepping-up to achieve the extra-ordinary”. Women are enriched & empowered by this journey, often describing it as a life altering experience. The motto being that of “Inspiring Hope in the Heart of the Community”. This title provides a platform from which to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. The TOP 5 finalists qualify for participation in the Mrs Mzantsi Africa national philanthropic pageant.
