What do you do for a living?
I am studying a Bachelor of Business Administration through Unisa and I work at Roux Airconditioning Ballito as a Branch Manager. I matriculated in 2006 at Danville Park Girls High School at the age of 17 and started at Roux Airconditioning as a receptionist, became service manager PA, and from there been promoted to Service Manager, Operations Manager and now am running our Admin side of the Ballito Branch. Inventory and Unit Stock Control, Invoicing, Job Cards, Quotes, Admin duties, Customer Care, running of our service department and scheduling jobs are to mention a few of my duties.
How long have you stayed/worked in Ballito?
2 and a Half Years. I worked in Roux Airconditioning’s Durban branch for 1 year but am now happily back in our Ballito Branch again for the past 2 months. Throughout high school I stayed in Umhlanga and Umgeni Park and went to Danville Park Girls High. I LOVE Ballito and couldn’t imagine moving away.
What would be your favourite place to have a good meal in Ballito?
Hops, Mozambik, Primi, Canelands Beach Club and Spa Sunday Lunch Buffet, Gianni’s.
Best place for sun-downers in Ballito, on a Friday afternoon, after a hectic week?
Anywhere with a view. Hops, La Montagne or even take a blanket, pack cheese and wine or get take away and go sit on a rock on the beach. I love doing that.
Your top 3 venues or places in and around Ballito?
La Montagne because I love having a strawberry daiquiri and pizza lying on the tan chair overlooking stunning ocean views, soaking up the sun and fresh air.
Lifestyle Centre – love the coffee shops, décor, the people and feeling I get when shopping or enjoying a light meal.
Hops and afterwards Shakers. I also LOVE my home and being with my loved ones.
Name 3 places where you would take an international guest or out of town friend in South Africa?
Sun City, Cape Town and all around Durban (incl. berg and midlands) plus our awesome Ballito!
What is your best spot to get away from it all less than 2 hours away from home?
San Lameer – It’s been a tradition for my mom and me to go every year – usually for her Birthday. We completely unwind, go for walks, relax and laze! It was also the resort we used to come on holiday to the coast when we lived in Vanderbjilpark.
If you could have any 3 people around for a splash-out meal at your home, who would you invite ?
This is hard because I have amazing family and friends! I love entertaining. I usually make a delicious lasagne, divine cocktails or my dad makes a killer champagne brunch. The people would have to be Jolene Woolley, Natasha Lyn Blom and Eugene Coetzee. (My dad, mom and friend Charlene already stay at my home so yay I didn’t have to invite them in this question) and then if it was another splash out meal night it would be my Sister, Brother in Law and GORGEOUS Niece Roselee (I would make sure that weekend my Granny visits)
Who would you like to see profiled on Profile Fridays?
Gavin Higgins (He was one of the Platinum sponsors and one of my sponsors for Miss Ballito – wow what a dynamic man. Last year was President of Roteract. He is the owner of Danger Media and Shakers) He is successful, caring and a wonderful person!
Favourite Sports Team
Best place to spend R50
At Yesterdays in the Ballito Mall or Tiffany’s Centre– I always get R10 Biltong, R30 Biltong Flakes and R10 Dry Wors. Just a small delicious snack.
Favourite Car (even if it’s a dream car)
Dream Car – Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren
Blackberry or iPhone?
Blackberry – I have one, and don’t know how I lived before without it ;), it’s cost effective, instant and simple. I’ve never been one for gadgets – if I was one to spend more time on my phone and with apps etc it probably would’ve been I Phone but the end of the day I couldn’t live without my BBM.
Your top 3 fav websites
www.facebook.com – News, Friends, Networking, Photos, Social, Life, Venues and Events, Updates – a website all in one…Definitely my top!
Does google count as a website? When I’m on the internet it’s usually Facebook, Google and to research news or study stuff for Unisa.
