Ballito goes green with St Patricks day celebrations

It’s a day world over where the leprechauns come out of hiding and the world dresses in green to celebrate the festive St Patricks day. Saint Patrick’s Day is actually a religious holiday celebrated internationally on 17 March and is named after Saint Patrick (c. AD 387–461), the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland.

Ballito is no different this year, and is also celebrating with a number of festivities taking place. First up out local brewery team, Luyt Lager, have developed a special Green beer to mark this momentous occasion. The Luyt Lager team will be at various venues along the North coast, with some great prizes to be won as well. You can catch the Luyt Lager team at any of the following venues :

  • Karibu Pub (Live Music & Giveaways)
  • Simbithi (Live Music & Giveaways)
  • Primi Plantation
  • Siggies
  • Verde (Umhlanga)
  • Sher Jo’s (Toti)
  • Collisheen Estate
  • La Montagne Hotel

The guys at Collisheen’s Holla Cafe, will also be putting on  a fun evening of Irish music, along with some Irish dancing, and even an Irish quiz added in for some fun. Dress up for the occasion and you could also win a prize ! Tickets are R120 including dinner & a drink. Booking is essential.

Also, if you feel like some great Irish culture & music, you can check out the guys from the renowned South African Irish band Ballyhoo, who will be performing some of their best Irish tunes at the Pumpkin Theatre at La Montangne Hotel. Tickets are R150 and can be booked through Computicket or at the Hotel.

These are just some of the highlights at various venues along the North Coast, but you can be gauranteed to enjoy some festive Irish cheer anywhere you go this evening. So gather up your mates, and go get some of the green Irish festive cheer.
